Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has released the recruitment notification for the post of Medical Officer (MO) to fill the vacancy of total 230 posts (regular) and 26 posts (backlog) in various medical institutions under Department of health, medical education and family welfare, Govt of Jharkhand.

The JPSC has notified for the recruitment process viz Advt. No. 19/2023 for regular recruitment on 230 post and Advt. no. 20/2023 for backlog recruitment on 26 posts.

The interested & eligible candidate will be able to apply via online mode to enroll in the recruitment process from June 19, 2023 to July 18, 2023 (Regular) & June 20, 2023 to July 20, 2023 (Backlog).

Pay Scale

Pay Scale: PB- II, 9300- 34800, Grade pay – 5400 INR (level-9)

Nature of the Post – Permanent

Probationary Period – 2 years

Eligibility Criteria

MBBS from medical college recognized by medical council of India and state government. And should be registered with Medical Council of India (MCI) or state medical council.

Experience: The candidate should have at least internship from recognized medical college or hospital.

Selection Process

The candidate would be selected on the basis of written and oral examination (interview) of MBBS level prescribed by medical council of India.

JPSC Medical Officer Exam Pattern

Written examination (400 marks)

This would be a multiple choice question (MCQs) paper, consisting of four paper of 100 marks each and allotted time for each paper will be 2 hours.

Paper I- Medicine (100 Marks)

Paper II- (100 marks)

• .       Child disease (general)- 40 marks
• .       Preventive medicine and community health including child welfare and family planning-  60 marks

Paper III- 100 marks

• .      Surgery (general)- 60 marks
•       Orthopaedics including Orthopedics- 40 marks

Paper IV- 100 marks

• .       Eye- 25 marks
• .       Ear, nose and throat- 25 marks
• .       Obstetrics and Gynecology- 50 marks  

Oral Examination (Viva)/Interview- 40 marks

The syllabus of the concerned subjects will be as per the syllabus of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
